I am still knitting scarves........I think I'm finished and then I find some more yarn I want to try...or another pattern I would like to see finished....there will be lots to choose from when I finally quit!  Hopefully everyone will find one they like!

What is Squeegie Doing?

Well....what is Squeegie doing?

I peeked around the corner to see what was there...........

Oh goodness!  I should have known...Squeegie is watching Poppa work.  It appears that he is painting.....

........the ceiling in the room with the new floor.  Later he painted the walls while I painted all the trim for baseboards and door casing....

...........and now we are awaiting the installation of the carpet so we can put the trim in place and move in some furniture!

Meanwhile, there were some strange things going on around our place recently.....

.........the weather has been very hot, and I believe Munchie was trying to keep cool!  But....

......sometimes I got the impression that it was a little too cool!  I took a break from snapping pictures and when I went back outside Poppa and Munchie had disappeared.  After a couple of minutes they emerged from the garage.....

...........Munchie was trying to fill Poppa's shoes with some difficulty.....so he took them off and....

........then I noticed that Poppa had donned a bathing suit and they were both running through the sprinkler!  About that time, Little Smiley woke up hungry.....

.......so Mommee and I rustled up something for him to eat.  When he was finished Poppa, Munchie, Little Smiley and Mommee decided to go to the playground across the road.  I said I would clean up and then go over.  But, by the time I got there....

..........they were all too hot, and were heading home.  Munchie wanted to show me how well he can ride his trike now.....

...........and he went so fast, I couldn't keep up to him!

...........and Little Smiley was complaining about the heat.........

.......so we all hopped into the car and went to find something to help us all cool down....

...........and he was much more comfortable in the store!  We took home our purchases and had supper before we put the little boys to bed.  The next day Munchie found Topper the singing bear....so Poppa, Munchie and Squeegie all put their hats on and posed with Topper for a picture....

..........what a group of cuties!  As usual, all too soon, our visitors were leaving and all was quiet at Poppa's house again.  We decided to go our for supper and when I opened the car door to get out...I couldn't believe my eyes.  I grabbed the camera and got his picture of what I found....

.............yes Uncle Shaun...........I finally found one sitting up neatly..........but I couldn't help but wonder what on earth someone was doing with a Timmy cup in the restaurant parking lot???!!!!  I was really glad I hadn't stepped on it and ruined my chance to get the picture!  Now.............what are Squeegie and Taffy doing????

Enterprise

Next month Little Smiley will turn one year old - and already he is thinking about his future.  While looking at some old photos of his big brother (Munchie) he came across this one...........

.........followed by this one..........

......now........Little Smiley recognized that crib and he recognized that change table.........and he noticed the difference between the two pictures.........and realized that he recognized something else that he had seen in a photo of himself with Nanna.....

...and another one when he was a tad more independent......

.........have you spotted it?  Yep - its the diaper!  Well, Little Smiley thought about this and decided there might be an important position available for a person with experience in the diaper business.  However, he thought he should do some further research into the bottom of the business first...

..............and perhaps a little more..........

.........oops..........What Mommee?  I'm just doing my homework..........

.........he couldn't figure out why she was so upset with him......so she tried to explain that his big brother had a much better idea............

........and I agree...........don't you?

Sum-sum-summertime!

I love summer sunshine.  All the plants are flourishing (though we do have to water them regularly).  It seems to be prime time for the day lilies....

....and I went further to get another angle.........

........oh good grief......what is Poppa doing now?  Anyway at the other side of the house, the geraniums are all putting on a beautiful display....

..........and around the corner, the summer lilies were also very showy......

.........I checked out the hosta.......

...........noticed that Poppa's little smoke tree is going to produce "smoke" this year....

...........and the fuschia plant - which I was worrying about, since I hadn't had one before - is just fine....

.........isn't it pretty?  Finally I headed to the back of the house to check out the tomatoes....

..........there are three little fruits on the tomato plants now...........and moved on to the peppers....

........Hee!  Aren't they cute little things?  Then, when I went around the next corner.........there was Poppa......

.......still working on something.  This time I asked.............Oh sure!  He's cleaning the filter from the up-right vacuum so he can suck up all the dust and bits from this surface...........

.........which is the sub-floor over top of the styrofoam insulation that you saw at the end of the last blog post.  He has all the sub-floor down now - he's so glad!  That was hard work!

The other nice thing about this time of year is that our little boys can play outside.  Munchie is especially fond of his pool.....

............he could hardly wait to get his shorts off.........

Meanwhile, I had better get back to my knitting because as soon as our wonderful summer ends  - some people will be wanting to have their scarves ready!

What is Poppa doing now?

Hmmmm.  He's reading instructions under Squeegie's watchful eye.....this could take a while....so I'll show you the latest Picture of the Day from Auntie Colleen.....

........about which she says:
"I believe this is a little Skipper Butterfly but don't quote me. I love the way the sun caught the wings and made them glow. I am also equally in love with the shapes and pattern of the leaf."  Isn't it pretty - she is so right about the sun creating a glow to this little butterfly!


What is Poppa doing now?  

Hmmmm.  It looks like he is building a big box????  What could it be????  The other day when we were coming back home from the donut shop we were surprised to see this....

......we're not sure how it got there, but we think the driver was attempting to back into the donut parking lot and seriously missed the driveway!  Next time we went by the car was gone, so we're hoping everything and everyone was fine.

Oh!  He stood the big box up and now he's putting doors on it!  I wonder what he is going to do with it now????  It looks like a large closet....or something!


I guess I'd better not write much longer.....

..........because Squeegie and Taffy are waiting to go into town.  But I bet you're wanting to know what happened to that big closet-thingey - right?  Well here it is .....

..........Oh My Gosh!  It's a place for all my knitting books and partly finished projects.........and whatever else I need to put in there!  Right now it has a lot of stuff from my desk because I had to empty my desk...........why? you ask.  Well....
