Computer Issues

I apologize for the long delay!  The hinge on my laptop broke and Best Buy could not get the part to replace it since Toshiba no longer manufactures laptops!  I really liked my Toshiba, but reality is not always fun.  Poppa was kind enough to buy me a new Acer laptop and this is my second day with it.  I have spent lots of time re-configuring everything so that it suits me.  And, finally, I think I have things sort of caught up, and decided I should take a few minutes to explain why you never got to see ......
......... the pictures from our summer visits with the little (getting bigger quickly) boys.  This is Curtie.....
....before he went to the barbershop with Poppa.  His hair was quite long............
............ but it was soon getting much shorter, and the end result is the picture at the top!  He wasn't here very long - only a few days, but............
.......... he had time to visit the playground at MacDonald's where he climbed to the very top of the play gym and...........
......... then back down to smile at us through the window (I love this picture!) before.......
......... putting his shoes back on and heading to the beach with Poppa.  They went "swimming" every afternoon when Poppa got home from the golf course.  I didn't get pictures of that since I took that time to do my chores and prepare supper.   But..........
.......... I did accompany them to the playground..........
............ where Curtie had a swing with Poppa's help............
............... and a swift ride down the curved slide!   As usual the days flew by and it was soon time for our little fellow to go back home - in time for his birthday on August 19th!

First Things First

Before I show you any pictures of our visits with the little boys, I think I should show you the Big Reveal..........
..........this is what our kitchen looked like when we moved into our condo.  This photo is taken from the front.  This..........
...........is a view from the dining area.  The dark chocolate colour was quite trendy and we liked it when we looked at the condo.  But, after living here for about a year, we decided that it was very dark in the kitchen area and maybe it would be nicer in a lighter colour.  So......
........... after many hours of work by Poppa...........
.......... here is the view from the front of the condo..........
.... and ...........
..... this is how it looks from the dining area.  We are both very pleased with the outcome.  It is now a much brighter and cheerier area - and I still love working in my new kitchen - maybe even a little bit more!  The boys' visits will be up next, but before I sign off for today...........
........ here is the second pair of socks for Uncle Brian!  I am now working on a queen size blanket for Mommy and Daddy - it is going to take a while to make one that large - but I am enjoying the project!!
