Abandoned Again!

Much to my delight I received a picture from Auntie Colleen today!  They have been more scarce of late, since she is busy with Uncle Shaun doing things they need to do.  With the larger amount of shoppers around these days, preparing for Christmas - there are probably more people drinking coffee out in the cold............well it appears that way anyway..........someone abandoned this speciman.
And since I have been quite derelict recently about posting pictures of what is going on - due to business regarding Christmas and a couple of days at work.............here is a really cute picture of Cujee relaxing in his little lounge.........
My knitting projects are progressing nicely, I just haven't taken the time to get pictures.  I am working today, so I will try to get the camera going tomorrow!

Have I Mentioned......

....how much I look forward to leaving the north country and heading to Florida each year?  I took this picture out the back door this morning..........November 19th, 2010.
At least it is melting in the driveway, so Poppa shouldn't have to shovel it - but our walk to the coffee shop isn't going to be as much fun as usual!

We went to visit Munchie and Cujee on Wednesday - just to see them. Everyone was doing just fine.    Munchie came racing down the hall to meet us.  Poppa scooped him up quickly and Munchie wrapped his arms around Poppa's neck and declared "I miss you Poppa".  This was a new sentence for us, and we were both impressed by his eloquence.  We went for a walk to the mall - and when I tried to get a picture of the little people in the double stroller that Aunt Tricia kindly let Mommee borrow - we discovered that it has reflective strips on it for good visibility......awesome!
It was kind of chilly outside so before we left we made sure Cujee was bundled up nice and warm.......I adore this outfit - especially the little tail!
See Mommee with her little teddy bear - actually - Munchie calls his little brother "Curtis-Mouse" when he wears this outfit - Hee!  It looks equally cute from the front........

Anyway with both little boys bundled up appropriately off we went.
Munchie insisted on wearing his new winter boots and clumped along in the mall.  Eventually we returned home and Poppa spent some time with the boys and I convinced them all to sit still for a moment while I got a picture.
Shortly thereafter Munchie declared himself ready for a nap......and so we headed back to Poppa's house.  When we arrived there, Squeegie was tired from the long drive and took a nap in Cujee's swing.

He has always loved that swing - since way back when Munchie used to sleep in it - about two years ago!

Meanwhile, back at knitting central.  I finished that last piece of baby tear lace this morning, and started a new one from the Nicky Epstein book.

And as promised - here is a picture of the pullover I started for the little fellow in New York.  These are the sleeves.  I wanted it to match up with the rest of his layette, so I am using the cream as the main colour with stripes of the confetti blue to match the overalls.  These are the arms.
The lighting in my knitting area is focused on my chair and capturing the colours is difficult - but this gives you an idea.

A New One!

Here is the latest in the abandoned series.  Poppa spotted it the other day while we were shopping at Wal-Mart.  It has been such a long time since we got an abandoned shot that I had to post it right away!
Cute huh?  Did they really think nobody would notice?  Or what?

I have started back to knitting lace, and I have also started the little pullover for baby Matthew - to match the rest of his ensemble.  I will post pictures soon.

Another Week Goes By

Last Saturday we went to a lovely wedding.  Remember the cousins we meet each year in Florida?  Well - their son was getting married and we were invited to attend, which we did with pleasure!  Everyone had a good time - we enjoyed visiting with relatives that we don't often see - and we had a couple of dances, which I always enjoy.
This is a picture of the groom's family, from left to right, Poppa's cousin Denis (father of the groom), Poppa's cousin Leon (uncle of the groom), Ashley, Poppa's Aunt Rita (grandmother of the groom), Andre, Janet (Leon's wife) and Liz (mother of the groom).  What a nice picture.........and the official photographer waited patiently while I took it.......well, maybe a little impatiently, but I got the picture!

On Sunday little Munchie arrived with Mommee and Cujee.  They stayed until Tuesday, much to Poppa's delight.  Munchie and Poppa played and played.
One of the highlights of the visit for Munchie was that he got a ride in Poppa's truck.  Poppa took him to visit Great-Gramma while I was at Aunt Peggy's.  He talked all the way into town and back again about Poppa's truck.  Then after we arrived home and had supper, Mommee and Kev-Inn decided to go to the movies - a nice break for both of them.  I babysat with Cujee - and all he did was sleep!

Next day Mommee sat with little Cujee, I made supper, and Poppa left with Munchie to get something at Canadian Tire.  Cujee fell fast asleep.
Mommee took advantage of this short respite to grab a bite to eat.
Once again - all too soon it was Tuesday and they were heading out the driveway back to their place.  Then things settled back into our normal routine - except that Kev-Inn was off for the week to do some deer hunting.  He was home for a couple of days and went with us for the walk to the coffee shop in the morning.
And I got Aunt Muffy's mittens all done.  She lives quite far north and it gets very cold in her city.  So....since I had lots of the yarn she picked from the stash I made two pairs.  A normal sized pair for when she is driving or walking on a moderate day, and a larger pair to slide on over the first pair for days when she needs to shovel snow, push stuck cars or walk on a frigid day.

And then I got Auntie Colleen's lace out again - Yay!  I had to look up the pattern since I had totally forgotten how to do it, but it didn't take long to get back in the groove.

One more image to leave with you.  Mommee thinks that Cujee is trying to be an elephant.  He slurps up as much milk as she can give him, and he keeps getting larger.  I took a close look and have reason to believe that she may be right about this.
And as you can see - he is finding her theory kind of funny.

Last Weekend

Whew!  I'm almost caught up to current with this blog.  Last weekend was a fairly quiet one.  On Sunday morning we went for breakfast with Granny and Gramps, who were up for a brief visit.  It was a good time - we enjoy their company.
It seems that all the pictures I get of Granny and Gramps are taken in a local restaurant at breakfast time!  Last picture was in their city, this one is in ours.  I got good reports regarding all the little folks in their family - and was happy to hear that they were all well.

Also, of course, last weekend was Hallowe'en.  In past years, the most "trick-or-treaters" we've had at our house, never exceeded fifteen.  This year we actually had twenty-four kids at the door - a banner year.  Poppa went in to help Aunt Peggy with all the little goblins in town - and she had about fifty.  Once again I was glad we didn't live in town - there wouldn't be any treats left over for me and Squeegie!  Mommee didn't get too many pictures of the little boys in their Hallowe'en getup, but she sent me a couple of them.  As you may recall from a previous post, they were spending the weekend at Grandma's house and going trick-or-treating with Cousin Reese.  Before they went out Munchie and Reese had a chance to play for a while....
While Grandma had a visit with Cujee.
Finally it was time to get out looking cute enough to garner some treats.
I am told that they did quite well and Munchie has enough candy to last for quite a long time.  But, by the time the little people arrived back home they were both worn out!
Cujee quickly fell fast asleep........
.............and Munchie wasn't very far behind.

Pooh Ride

Aunt Muffy's wait eventually ended......and Munchie arrived for a visit with her.  She helped Mommee unwrap Cujee.
And meanwhile, Munchie couldn't wait to get to his toys..........and started with a happy ride on his rocking Pooh.
This Pooh originally belonged to Squeegie.  Kev-Inn bought it for him.  But Squeegie generously ceded ownership a couple of years ago when it became obvious that Munchie really liked rocking.  He still loves that Pooh and I think he wishes it would grow with him.

Oh my gosh!  Seeing Munchie in that little plaid shirt reminds me............I forgot to include this delightful picture of him enjoying his birthday cake from the weekend before!  Poppa picked out this cake for him since I was at work and Munchie appears to appreciate it very much!
I think he is doing such a nice job of eating that cake in this picture.  But.......once his little tummy got full, he wasn't quite so careful or tidy.
But, back to where I was.  Since I worked during most of this second visit, I didn't get a lot of pictures.  But I do know that Cujee was a little bit fussy for some of the visit....and Aunt Muffy stepped in to help out..
They had a nice chat together and Cujee was happy to have a visit with her.  Then Poppa took a turn with the little guy.
Meanwhile, Munchie found a wonderful teddy bear blankie and discovered that when he was wrapped up inside, if felt just like the teddy bear could give him a fuzzy hug.
This became his blankie of choice while he was here and it is now upstairs with his bed awaiting his next visit.  I'm so pleased that he likes fuzzy things, especially bears - like, well, you know ---- Squeegie and Taffy!  Hee!  Speaking of Squeegie - he got a new jacket - with a hood!
And speaking of jackets...........here are my boys, with their hats and jackets on ................. ready to go check out the playground and see if it was dry enough for some fun.........
And - one last photo to share - Mommee and Aunt Muffy went out for dinner and some sister-time.  They left Poppa and me babysitting and I got this picture of the two little boys before they went to bed that night.

Oh Yes - Knitting!

I finished off the little outfit for New York - it looked like this....
You can see the blanket there all folded up, here it is after I blocked and pressed it - before I folded it.
I'm going to make a little pullover to go with this outfit, but the baby was already overdue - so I shipped off the pieces I had ready.  Once that was done, I wanted to finish up the stuff I had started before I got that request. So - I started with Munchie's teddy-bear blankie.  Here it is - all done!
Then I got busy and started the mittens for Aunt Muffy - you know - those mittens she won when she correctly answered some question I posed on this blog........now I don't remember what the question was - oh Dear!  Anyway, while she was here last time she looked at what I had in my stash and picked some yarn......so here is what they looked like at bedtime last night.
Speaking of last night..........it was Hallowe'en.  Munchie and Cujee went trick or treating in Aunt Melissa's neighbourhood since they were visiting with Gramma.  Mommee will surely send me a couple of pictures for you....right Mommee?  She said that Munchie really enjoyed going out this year.  And.....in keeping with the Hallowe'en theme............here is a picture of Auntie Colleen's (and Uncle Shaun's) house last night..............
Spooky isn't it!  I love the visage in the attic window..........scare-ey!

Oh yes, and this is how Aunt Muffy mitten looked at the end of The View this morning.........

Retired Again!

Yep- I'm retired again!  The young lady who has been off sick, will be off indefinitely.  Therefore they hired a temporary person to fill in for her.  This frees up the person I have been filling in for - so she can do her own work again.  So............they don't need me for a while anyway.........so here I am at my computer once again.  It's been a whole month that I was working, so I'm quite a lot behind.

First Aunt Muffy came to visit.  She arrived on a Friday.  Then the next day Munchie, Cujee, Daddee and Mommee arrived.  We had a full house and a busy time!  Munchie got ready for bed and then came back downstairs to play for while before climbing in for the night.  Once there he discovered his birthday presents and decided it was time to open them.
He unwrapped this little car and asked Poppa to help get it out of the box so they could play with it.
They had a good time and soon Munchie was tired and Poppa took him up to tuck him in for the night.  He was sleeping in Poppa's room since we had a full house and there was enough space in there to set up Munchie's bed.  He was quite tired though, and settled down right away.  With that accomplished, Popa went downstairs with Daddee and Cujee to watch the hockey game.
Daddee had to get home in good time on Sunday to play hockey - so the visit seemed quite short.  However, Mommee said she would come back for a longer visit with Aunt Muffy next week, so reluctantly we watched them leave.

During the week Aunt Muffy went to Toronto for some activities there.  Meanwhile I was at work - where the power went off - our computers wouldn't work - so we had no choice but to take a break.
Aunt Muffy came back home - and Tuesday arrived and she watched patiently for Mommee to arrive with the little boys.
