....gosh how time flies.  One week ago today, sometime after supper, I heard someone coming in the back door.....
.........and there was Poppa with Munchie - yes that is Munchie wearing his new leather jacket.  Gramma brought that for him back in August.  He looks so cute in it!  One of the first things Munchie noticed was that the toys were gone from the parlour!  So I took him downstairs to the new room, and it wasn't long before the new room - which had seemed so large - suddenly seemed much smaller....
...Munchie and Poppa had toys everywhere!  Poppa couldn't even get all the way into the room!  But, Muchie loved all the space - and seeing the toys he hadn't seen for what seemed like a long time!  And, now that Little Smiley is walking...
.....he had lots of fun playing too!  On Saturday morning we all went to Mickie D's for breakfast.  Munchie came in our car with Poppa.........he loves hats, and put his hood up for the ride...
....he always loves it when I put the vanity mirror down on my side of the car and talk to him - or take his picture!  Hee.  The little boys had a great time at the playground at Mickie D's, but eventually we convinced them that we should go back home.  Once there, it was back to the basement again - in the direction of all those toys......this time Mommy and Daddy joined us.  Daddy thought Little Smiley's fruit bowl was a hat.....
...while Mommy settled down on the floor to play with Munchie....
..........where is Poppa you ask?  Well, Gramps showed up and Poppa went golfing with him - so he was gone for quite a while.  He arrived home just in time for supper, so we ate, and soon it was time for our little boys to go to bed.  Mommy had Little Smiley up there and sound asleep before I had time to get the camera out, but Munchie came downstairs so Poppa could read him a story...
...........he had on his new Spiderman pyjamas and his Toronto Maple Leaf slippers and was just too cute for words!  The next day we were so pleased to have Granny....
..and Gramps come for a visit.  Granny brought presents for the little boys.....
...........there was an adorable Snoopy for Little Smiley.........and a really cute hat........
..........which was supposed to be for Little Smiley, but Munchie commandeered it to wear, while he took pictures with his new camera.....
........of course, Granny had brought her camera (I think her motto is "never leave home without it")...
...........and of course, she also brought Gramps.....
.......who was busy reading instructions for the camera, while Poppa peeked through the view-finder, and Munchie looked at the little booklet.  As usual, it seemed away to soon, when it was time for the little guys, along with Mommy and Daddy to head back to their house.  Granny & Gramps stayed for some lunch with us, and then they too, set out on their trip home.  The house became very quiet, and the dust settled......so we got out the vacuum and set about putting everything back to normal.

Weekend

Hi everyone!  We had a wonderful weekend with Mommy, Daddy and the little boys - including a visit from Granny & Gramps.  I got lots of pictures, but we spend today resting up and getting back to normal, and I haven't downloaded any yet - so I will post a nice long blog tomorrow!

Project Progress

Oh Dear!  I just looked at the weather forecast and they are predicting snow for next Thursday!  I hope for once that they are wrong!  Surely it won't snow in October!  It isn't supposed to snow at all until after December 15th - when we will be on our way to sunny Florida!  Did I already tell you that we will be in Florida for Christmas this year?  I am so excited!  BUT...........I don't need any snow - and mostly - neither does Poppa!!  Oh Dear!!!!

In the meantime, with cold weather imminent, I sent Poppa over to Uncle Ernie's to deliver this package.....
for little baby Jack.  I have finished one more small project and started another, but they are Christmas gifts and I'm not going to show you the pictures until later, so as not to spoil anyone's surprise!  Having mentioned the impending cold and winter weather, Mommy was trying winter coats on her little boys.  Little Smiley is now wearing Munchie's old coat......
...........and waiting at the back door to go outside.  Munchie is now wearing his brand new coat.....
.......with his favourite super-hero - Spiderman!  Both coats look a little big on our little boys right now, but they should last for a while!

Another Day

I know - you are all wondering where I've been!  Nowhere in particular.  Everything has been calm and normal - so there was nothing exciting to tell you!  This is a good thing.  Poppa is feeling better all the time and getting more like his normal self.  He still takes a day off every so often - so I know he's still a little below par!  He has been raking a lot of leaves and the other day we took the second trailer-load to the dump.  First we loaded them in the trailer....
...and then we loaded the bears into the truck...
..........it was a chilly, damp day as you can see - they both have their jackets on.  It was also a bit windy, and it is a good half hour drive to the dump, so we put a tarp over the leaves to keep them from flying out along the way.
Notice how nice Poppa's trailer looks now - he got it all painted up.  Also notice how nicely those eye-hooks worked for tying down the tarp.  But - the bottom line is............we took this load to the dump and I'm quite sure there are at least three more loads on the lawn as I type - but they'll have to stay there until it stops raining. And then, there are still a lot of leaves on the trees - and I'm sure they'll come down in the next cold spell!  My goodness - why did Poppa plant all those trees?  Hee!

I have a new Picture of the Day to share with you too!  The pictures aren't exactly coming every day like they used to - so I haven't had many lately - but I'm always pleased to get them when they do arrive - and this was belongs to my beloved Abandoned Series from Uncle Shaun....
..........Auntie Colleen calls it Abandoned Fishing.............I love it!

AND - I finally got some pictures from Mommy taken on the day of Munchie's birthday party.  Poppa and I missed it because it was during the time Poppa was recovering from meningitis, and I have been wanting pictures.  I scanned them all carefully and, although this one is not the clearest - I just love the expression on his little face when he managed to blow out all the candles on his cake....
....he had a lot of fun that day, getting help with his presents from Cousin Reese....
.....and opening them up....
........and trying them on.....
..........or trying them out.........
............oh my heavens - our baby is growing up so quickly!  Meanwhile, Aunt Melissa and Uncle Russ looked on....
........and Little Smiley, who had just had his own birthday, found it all a little boring....
....until Mommy brought him some birthday cake!
Where was Daddy you ask????  Well he was busy doing that Daddy-thing!  You know.....
........following the "easy assembly" instructions to get the new toys up and working!  Have fun Daddy!  Happy Birthday Munchie!

Still Falling

I'm back!  For some reason my laptop is not interacting properly with Blogger and I cannot see pictures in any blogs - not even the one I get via e-mail.........and yet I can see them just fine on my old desktop computer - go figure.  So, the leaves are still falling and autumn is still imminent.  The roses are fading....
......the begonias are beginning to droop.....
.......the last of the tomatoes are really tiny.........but one is actually promising to turn red.....
..........and as I headed towards the front of the house I noticed.....
.........Squeegie, sitting on the car staring off into the distance......so I looked around to see what he was looking at...........
........it turns out that Poppa was over there with his leaf blower.  Hmmm.   I returned to the front yard to find that autumn is an excellent time of year for the marigolds.....
........they are looking better than they did all summer!  Poppa has been working away on the basement stairway and it is looking nicer all the time....
......I headed back to the yard to see what Squeegie and Poppa were up to out there and found.....
..............Squeegie helping his little sister to climb up the pile of leaves that Poppa had rounded up.  It wasn't long before they were both up to their necks.....
.......meanwhile Poppa had worked after supper to finish the stairs........from the top....
...........it looks like this, and from the curve in the stairs looking down.....
..........you see this.  All done now and looking great.  Poppa is so talented!  Today it is raining outside and Poppa took Squeegie out to do some yardwork ..........
.........so they both put their raincoats on.  Cute aren't they?  Taffy stayed inside with me to help with the household chores.....
.....which we did hurriedly, so we would be able to write this blog!

Fall

Autumn is fast approaching - in fact I think it is here.  The leaves are changing colour and dropping to the ground....

.....but there seem to be problems with the blogger website and I can't load pictures....so I will try again later!

Where is Nanna?

Hi everyone - this is Taffy.  When I came downstairs on Thursday morning, this is what I found....
....Nanna's light is on, her computer is running, but her chair is empty!  I guess I'd better look for her!  I went for a walk with Poppa past this house where the grass was covered with frost....
...........can you see it?  It is starting to get very chilly during the night now - so when we wake up there is frost on the lawns and the roofs.  Poppa says the frost encourages the leaves to turn into their fall colours....
...........aren't they pretty?  But, during the day it gets lovely and warm.  Poppa is starting to get his energy back now and he has been keeping busy!  I found Squeegie watching while.....
.........what is Poppa doing now?  I looked out the window and saw this thing outside.....
....what is that Squeegie?  Since Squeegie is a boy, he knows more about stuff like that....
...........he explained that it is a compressor.  Somehow or other, I'm not sure I understood, but anyway...it makes Poppa's air hammer work, it looks like this......
.........it makes it very easy to put nails into things.  Poppa used it to....
......put the trim around the doors in the basement hallway..........and then the next day he used it again.....
............to put some baseboard out there too!  Gosh that hallway is starting to look really nice.  The next day, he started another project.....
...........while Squeegie and I looked on.  After he had a rest while the paint dried, he went back into the house......
..........and started using various tools to work around the closet at the bottom of the stairs......it took quite a while but when he was finished.....
............Squeegie sat back to admire it and proclaimed it finished and wonderful.  Now we can't see all that miscellany of stuff in there!  Poppa was quite pleased with himself and felt so good about his accomplishments over the last three days...........
.........that he took Squeegie and went outside to BBQ some steaks for our supper.  I decided it was definitely time that I found Nanna, so she could help me with the vegetables - so I went on a serious hunt, calling her name and searching through the house.  Imagine my surprise, when I found her at the bottom of the stairs...........
......admiring the new closet door!  And that's what's been happening for the last few days.  Poppa is feeling better each day and slowly getting back to his normal self - I'm so glad!   And Nanna is back in her chair doing more knitting.....
........and all is well with my world.  So, I'll talk to you all later....
..........thanks for reading.  Bye for now - Taffy.
