Pair Number Six......

Aunt Lynda has picked!  I thought it might take her a little longer - being new to this game!  But, she has already.....
.........chosen this pair!  These are made from Berroco Comfort Sock.  The label didn't have the colourway on it...so I called them Autumn Stripes...since they reminded me of Canadian maples in the fall.  Since this is Aunt Lynda's first pair of my socks...I'm really hoping she will like them!  Now off to send pictures for Cousin Tracy.

And Pair Number Five.....

Aunt Grumpy was quick to pick!  She says....
...this pair is calling her name!  These are made from Premier Serenity Sock and the colour is called Woodsy Green.  These also have that same mock cable on them.....I just really like it - it's fun to do and it looks fancy.  I made the spacing different, but kept the mock cable.  Now it is time for our Newbee to choose....so I am sending the pictures off to Aunt Lynda.

Pair Number Four...

If you read the comments below each post - you have already guessed that Auntie Colleen broke the trend....she picked......
....this pair made from Stroll Sock by Knit Picks.  The colour is Agate Heather.  The pattern is a false cable.  I hadn't made socks with this pattern since I made them for Great-Grandpa John (Poppa's father). He loved home-made socks and I was constantly making them for him.  He loved cables and this was a quicker, easier way to make him think he had cables.  I did make one pair with real cables - but nobody has chosen them yet.  Right now, I am about to send the pictures of the remaining socks to Aunt Grumpy.  Hopefully there are still some that she likes!

And One More Pair.....

You know, when I started this round of socks, for some reason I thought everyone would be clamouring for the solid colours.........so far everyone has picked the variegated colours!  And...so did Gramma...
.... she picked Paton's Stretch Socks in Spumoni Stripes.  I must admit that I rather like this pair myself!  And, now it is time for Auntie Colleen to make her choice.  I notice that she has been reading the blog regularly - I suspect she has been awaiting her turn!

One More Pair.....

Mommy didn't take too long either!  She wanted this pair.....
....when she saw them in the group photo........and they were still there for her to choose.  So, she is happy!  Now it is Gramma's turn....so I'm off to send her the album!  Thank you to those who responded with prayers for my Mom - Gramma Grace!  Good Night All!

Off To A Good Start!

Here we go!  Auntie Denise has already chosen her socks.....they look like this....
....they are made from Lion Brand Sock Ease, and the colour is called Taffy!  Needless to say our little Taffy liked this pair best.  Now the pictures will travel to Mommy for her selection.  I'll keep you informed!

Meanwhile.........Noelle (Ellie) Kathleen is the name of that new little girl, born on March 6th, 2012 and weighing in at 6lbs 15oz.  And....TaDah.......she is adorable....
....n'est ce pas???  Congratulations to Momma Kat!

More Sox are Ready to Ship.....

Round Two of the 2012 Sock Giveaway is ready to go...........
and the individual pictures have been sent to Auntie Denise...since she is at the top of the list this time.  In case you are wondering where you are on the list - here it is:  Auntie Denise, Mommy, Gramma, Auntie Colleen, Aunt Grumpy, Aunt Lynda and Tracy.  As you can see from the picture the socks match this time - and there are multis and plains.  I hope there is something to please everyone since it has been quite a while since I actually made a whole pair of socks from the same ball of yarn!  Take a look at this yummy yarn....
....... I bought these to make socks for Uncle Brian - he needs extra large skeins for his - ummm - well - ummm - extra large feet.   These were to be my next project, but I have a critical request from another source - so these might have to wait until that project is done.  Mommy's friend Kat (you remember the baby bump - right?) bought some nice cotton yarn to crochet a baby blanket using her newly acquired skill of crocheting.  Time wore on and she just didn't feel like doing it....so after she received her socks in the last giveaway, she asked if I could knit the yarn into a blanket.  Of course, I couldn't say no - so she mailed me the yarn.  I told her I would finish the current batch of socks and then start her blanket - hopefully to have it done before the due date of March 21st.  Oh goodness!  That little tiny girl could not wait and she was born last week.  This put a rush on to get the socks done and start the blanket.  The socks are now done, and I have started the blanket - whew!  So, poor Uncle Brian is temporarily on the back burner again.  I even brought some yarn from my stash to make the poor guy some slippers too - which of course are also on the back burner.  With time running out for our stay in Florida - I will probably start his socks and slippers in the car on the way home - but rest assured - Dear Uncle Brian - they will be at the top of the list as soon as this blanket is done and on its way to that new little girl!

Do any of you watch "Everybody Loves Raymond"?  Poppa loves it and we watch it when there are no shows on that I want to watch.  So..........
....I call this picture "Squeegie (Frank) Barrone".  I also have a really nice picture of Taffy.....
.... dressed for church on Sunday.......and she wanted me to call this one "Taffy (Vanna) White".
