Playground

I took this picture yesterday in the morning.  This area has been vacant un-used green space since we moved here 17 years ago.  One of our neighbours (the one who organizes the Christmas display in this park every year) approached our local government to see if we could get a playground for the local children.  And - much to our surprise, he was successful!
The workers were there all day and I think they are finished.  It looks awesome.  I will take more pictures today so you can see the end result.

I have finished the blanket for Curtis and then I decided it needed a border, so I have finished that and now I have to attach it to the blanket.

I'm going to have to spread the blanket out on the dining room table to attach the border, which means I will be upstairs - away from the TV.  Since I was in town in the afternoon, and I relax after supper in front of the TV - I decided I would start a new blanket for Munchie and attach that trim this afternoon when I should be at home.  I looked for a more "grown-up" pattern for Munchie since he will be 2 in a couple of months.  My original intention was to make him a blanket like the big one I made for Curtis, but I think it is too big even for Munchie, so I chose another pattern.

This method of knitting is called entrelac and I have been wanting to try it for quite a while, so I decided this was a good project for it.  It is interesting, and not as difficult as it looks.  So far I am pleased with the result.

I got a text message from Poppa and all is going well at Granny's house.  That is good news!  Maybe Granny will send me a picture when it is all done???  Hey Granny????
