After Munchie and his family left last Sunday, life settled back into our normal routine. The bears sat on the kitchen counter, looking out to watch for Poppa and I coming back from our morning walk to the donut shop.
We passed by what I fondly call bears and chairs. The creator of these wonderful, colourful cottage furnishings is extremely talented and inside his store is a wealth of unique wood furniture and accessories. I wanted them all, but of course price and space were prohibitive.
While passing by, we noticed that the plants in our flower table were flourishing. They like that cool shady spot under the trees.
We haven't seen Slither for several days and are wondering if he has left the culvert. We'll keep our eyes open and check.
Thursday was Canada Day and Mommee and Daddee were both off work for the day. They decided they would like to have a night on the town and they came to drop Munchie off to stay with us until Friday.
Munchie was happy to see Poppa, but a little sad to see Mommee and Daddee leaving. He was soon diverted by his desire to show off his new giraffe outfit. He thought about being a giraffe when he grew up, but decided that long neck wasn't very amenable for relaxation.... but he sure looked cute!
Soon it was time for supper, but after a long trek outside with Poppa, Munchie was tired and was still napping while we ate. Luckily he woke up in time for dessert. But - before that he got spoiled by sitting on Poppa's knee while he had his first course.
Poppa went into town and picked up Aunt Peggy, so she could have a visit with Munchie, and she had supper with us.
When dessert was finished, it (of course) was time to wash our hands. So off went Poppa and Munchie to the sink. This is one of Munchie's favourite things to do.
Oh! Well I guess he also had a drink while he was there - I think Poppa taught him that. Umph! Boys will be boys I guess.
Soon, Munchie was worn out again - he played with all his toys and entertained us for a while. Then he went for the ride to take Aunt Peggy home. So, when we got to Poppa's house again he was quite willing to go to bed. Early next morning he went outside with Poppa for a trip to the workshop.
When their chores were done, and Kev-Inn was awake and ready to go, we went out to the car, heading into town for breakfast. Oh-Oh! Low tire on the car. Poppa blew it up with his compressor and we headed into town. But - we needed to get that tire fixed before we headed down to Munchie's house later that day - for sure! Poppa dropped Munchie and me off at a local park. He had a great time. He slid on the slides, swung on the swings and climbed on the monkey bars. Of course, I didn't get pictures, since I was too busy keeping a watchful eye on the little adventurer! There is a water spout there, but after taking off his shirt, shoes and shorts, he decided the water was too cold and didn't get wet after all! Poppa picked us up about an hour later, and Munchie was soooooo tired that he went for a nap immediately! In fact I had to wake him up to get ready to go back to see Mommee and Daddee. They were both happy to see him and we had a delicious supper (Mommee had it ready), Poppa put Munchie to bed for the night and we left for home.
While I didn't get much time for knitting while Munchie stayed with us, I did finish the pink Diamond Edging Lace I had been working on. Then I started a new piece of lace called Grandmother's Edging which, once again, I found at KnitWiki. It is so pretty - I'm quite pleased with it
Pretty soon I am going to have to stop knitting and do some starching and pressing...this lace is starting to back up! This is my current backlog awaiting that important finishing touch.
That little stash should keep me busy for a while, and keep Auntie Colleen even busier!
I love the picture with Munchie just chillin' on the floor in his Giraffe suit! Hee! Too Cute!
ReplyDeleteMunchie is adorable. The lace is gorgeous. Looks like a good weekend.
