What's New

Look at this picture....
OK, that misty look is rather effective - BUT - I took this picture with my new Nikon L110 and I couldn't figure out why it was doing this.  It has a lens cap, which I keep on, so the possibility of the lens being smudged is slight.  But I couldn't think of anything else, so I flip it up to check.  It turns out that the central air conditioning in the house was working, and it was so hot and humid outside that the lens fogged up when I went out.  Today it is still hot and humid, but not nearly as bad as yesterday when I took the picture.  Once I figured out what was wrong with the camera, I took a couple of shots of the new playground across the road - there were already kids playing there and they seemed to be having a good time.

There are no kids there today, since it is pouring rain outside - which means I don't have to worry about watering the plants for another day.  Kevin has been helping me with that task when he is home...

I didn't have to water yesterday either because a thunderstorm went through our area.  It dumped rain on us, and the wind got quite strong for a short time.  When the storm was over I was heading in to Aunt Peggy's and that is when I took the misty picture.  A tall tree across the road had come down during that storm.  Here is a clearer picture.

As you can see, my camera was still threatening to mist up in the humidity.  Poppa texted that he is going golfing today...I hope it is not raining where he is, and that it isn't too hot and humid as well.

I'm meeting Auntie Colleen for lunch today, so I starched and pressed the lace in my stash.  Here is how it turned out.
This is English Lace in Cebelia No. 10 Blue.

Diamond Edging Lace in Cebelia No. 30 Pink

This one is called Point Lace (though I don`t think that really describes it very well) in Cebelia No. 30 Pink.

And finally, Scollop Edging in that same Cebelia No. 30.  I like this one, it is quite well organized and tidy, though I should have straightened it out a little before I took the picture.

One more item before I hit the ironing board to finish off one last piece of lace (pictures to follow).  Uncle Shaun is still being quite diligent in searching out prospects for our abandoned series.  Here is the latest one:

  1. That lace is all so beautiful. I'm already thinking up card ideas.
Where did you get that cool artistic mailbox? Nice.
You really must have had some serious wind out by you. The foggy effect did add to the tree shot *g*.
