Another day in the life of a busy retired Poppa! Last evening just after supper Poppa left to go to Granny Maureen's house. Granny and Gramps are doing a make-over in their bathroom and Poppa offered to give them a hand. Since he has done several bathrooms over the years, they accepted his offer with smiles and the promise of a game of golf while he was there. So, after finishing up a project at Great-Grandma Grace's house and yanking the weeds out of her flower bed, he declared it time to go to Granny and Gramp's house. He will be away for about a week - we'll sure miss him. Squeegie is already feeling lonely. Here he is sitting in Poppa's chair and having his morning coffee in Poppa's mug.
The weather here has been incredibly warm, but not warm enough to keep Uncle Shaun from finding some incredible subjects for his camera. Here is the quote from a recent Picture of the Day - followed by the actual incredible picture.
"Here's quite the guy that posed for Shaun in Scout Valley on the weekend. Isn't he gorgeous... and what an expression. He let Shaun get really close and posed all pretty before hopping away."
This toad looks like he is trying to become a teddy bear and grow fur. Seriously! Click on the picture to make it bigger - his legs look furry!
Incidentally, Poppa usually proof-reads my blogs, so if there are any typos in this entry - its because he's away!
Tell Squeegie to cheer up. He can raid the junk-food cupboard all he wants while Poppa is away. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...the toad didn't look furry to me, but I'm here at work and maybe didn't take the time to get the 'full-screen' effect. Anyway, it really is a nice shot!
