More Knitting

You may have seen some of these before - just bear with me... I spent some time today organizing my pictures, so it shouldn't happen again ... unless I get way behind again!

Aunt Peggy's long-time and very good friend Robbie, asked me to knit an outfit for a little girl baby.  That same baby will be turning 1 year old in December - and Robbie asked if I could make another outfit for her!  Since we have until December to deliver the present for that important birthday, I decided to knit a couple of outfits so Robbie could have a choice.  When I was looking for patterns, I found three I liked.  The one above is from Mary Maxim and I have made it before and liked the end product, so I decided I would do it this time too.

This is the back view.  I call this one Little Bow Peep.

This is a new pattern for me - but I'm quite pleased with the end result - a more traditional cardigan with color transitions which give it a boost from traditional.  In case you are wondering, Robbie requested a tam instead of a bonnet, since the little girl will be a year old...so each sweater has a matching tam.  I call this one: Mary had a little tam.

The final option:  I call this one Shirley Temple because it just makes me think of some of the adorable outfits she wore in those old movies - does anyone else remember those??

I'm pretty sure I posted this one before, but I'm not sure and didn't take the time to check.  This one has already gone to the hospital gift shop.

As has this peachy, little butterfly.

A cute set for a little baby boy.

Pretty in pink for a baby girl!

What's up butter cup?

Little boy blue!

Three guys out golfing - Poppa is in the middle.

What Have I Been Doing?

Well - knitting of course.  The gift shop at the hospital has re-opened, so that felt like a license to begin knitting in earnest again!

I started with this little blue hoodie - because I wanted to make another hoodie!

This little outfit has a story.  Aunt Jeannie has a friend who will be having her first baby early in 2022.  At this point she doesn't know the gender of the little one --- but --- she is hoping for a girl.  Aunt Jeannie wanted to give her something, so she and her friend looked around on the blog and spotted one similar to this and it was decided she would like feather and fan.  So I knitted up this one.

In the meantime, I had been knitting for the hospital and  found an old pattern - made it in blue.

Right now I am creating a blanket that will compliment the little feather and fan oufit.

But, before I started that, I had already finished this little yellow outfit.

This one was started pre-COVID, but finished during the pandemic.

This peachie one flits around like a butterfly!

I added a little pompom to the hoodie to dress it up a bit.

Finally, I just finished a little blue and white feather and fan set - just in case the anticipated baby is a little boy.

And here, for your viewing enjoyment, is a photo taken in 1967 on October 28th.  Yes, that is me and Poppa in the centre!  Can anyone identify all the other people????  (I can!)

Poppa Working Again!

What is Squishie looking at now?

Oh!  Poppa must be outside working on finishing up that partition fence..
Oh yes!  I see him on the other side.  What is he doing?

I don't know.....

Whatever it is, apparently it needs some consideration.

Oh... I know!  He is putting wood preservative on it to make it look new again, and keep it looking that way!

Of course - his plants at the front look fantastic!

Oh - now what is he doing?  He is at number 19 - which is four doors up from our unit.

Yikes!  He's lifting all those patio slabs to level them out and make the walkway safer.

They're heavy - but he can do it!  (Sooner him than me!)

He's checking it out - must be done!

I finally finished off this little angel pocket!  For the longest time I couldn't get buttons, everything was made difficult by the COVID restrictions.  But I finally found some at Wal-Mart that served the purpose quite nicely.  So I added the buttons and a bit of knitted lace.  What else have I knitted since COVID started?  Well, more on that later.  Meanwhile, Poppa and I have both had two shots of Pfizer vaccine and feeling much more comfortable going for groceries and church - still wearing masks as advised though!  Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Rather Long Delay

Hello!  I apologize for the long delay since my last post!  I have received a couple of special requests and have been busily knitting.  For some reason, during this long session of isolation and restrictions, I have been more inclined to sit in my knitting chair instead of my computing chair.  But - here I am with a few pictures that should have been posted a long time ago!  As I mentioned I lost some of the photos I took near the end of our trip to the UK.  Our UK friend has been kind enough to send me some that he took - Hurray!  So here we go - back to last September.

This is not a picture from our trip - but I HAD to show you!  This is a photo of the 17th hole on a golf course near David's place in the UK - where he has actually gone golfing.  He didn't mention how is score was.  I showed Poppa and he said he didn't think he was qualified to golf there!  Just "Wow".
This is a snapshot of those exotic sheep that live in a meadow near David and Allison's house.  Aren't they wonderful?  Just look at all that wool, waiting to be knit into something!
A picture of David and Allison's "cottage".  This is the place I call the "mini-castle" - because that is just what it feels like when you are inside!  I loved every second we spent there!
Oh my gosh!  This is a glimpse of the glory of Chatsworth Hall, where the Duke and Duchess of Somerset call home!  Can you even imagine living in such splendor?
The view from another angle....this picture hangs on the wall there, so visitors can see the expanse of the building and the property.
But the interior is even more impressive, between the decor and artwork it is breath-taking!
Here is a picture of myself and Poppa - see?  We were really there!
Another awesome collection of family pictures.

The expansive skylight - how beautiful!

Poppa and me looking down from the top of the majestic staircase.

Luxury living at its best!

This is the ceiling in the grand entrance!  Just imagine!

I would go back in a flash if I had the opportunity.  Our whole trip was filled with marvelous experiences which I will never forget!
