Quick Post

I recently knit a blanket for this young lady who will be having a little girl soon.  She appears to be quite pleased with it!  They are decorating the nursery in pink and grey.

And... since golfing is probably over for this year...here is a picture of Poppa (center) with a couple of his golfing buddies.

A Short Note.....

I still have a few socks. If there is interest, leave a message and I will post the pics.

A memory from 2013.....

At Work

Squeegie is learning to play the guitar that Munchie and Curtie brought him from the Build-A-Bear store in their mall.

Taffy is knitting some socks.  As I mentioned previously I am trying to use up my sock yarn (in fact all of my yarn stash) and Taffy is very kindly helping with that project!

I love this picture of Daddy (Jeff) minding the dogs outside while Mommy and the boys have a visit of us.

Meanwhile the boys were in the house having a drink.

I looked out the sliding doors at the rear of our unit and caught this little fellow percing on one of our chairs having his lunch.

While upstairs in the bedroom, Happy and Furbee were checking the weather to see if they would go someplace exciting.

Taffy is still knitting, while trying to teach Gracie how to do it too!

Meanwhile Poppa is using my swift to wind some skeins into cakes for us, so we can use the yarn bowl to knit more socks!

Our next door neighbor got a new car.  It is sooo nice, a Lincoln....made both Poppa and me remember when we had a Lincoln too.

Among other projects, Poppa is refurbishing and old model John Deere tractor.  When he got it this part was a heap of rust - just look at it now!

And, right now, the rock gardens around the garden apartments were getting more and more filled in with grass and weeds and were becoming very unattractive!

Munchie and Curtie came to help Poppa with this project and this is a picture of the part they have finished!  What a difference - and it isn't easy - every stone had to be taken out and piled, then all the grass and weeds dug out by hand, then all the stones put back in an attractive manner.  What a great job they are doing.

Their shoes were getting worn and dirty, so Poppa took them to the store and got them each a pair for getting dirty!  Curtis chose these runners.

While Munchie chose a more stylish version.  They are already dirty as you can see - but he had worn a hole right through the sole of his crocs!

Of course, he couldn't resist climbing up the stairs to the top - he's still a bit of a monkey!

All too soon, they will be on their way back home, but they have a couple more days to go!  Thank you boys!  And thanks to Mommy and Daddy for letting us borrow them!

Some Available Socks...

I have a few pairs of  "silly" socks ready for choosing!  Remember they are made from left-over yarn bits from previous "serious" socks.  Therefore, I cannot attest to the content, nor can I advise laundering suggestions.  If I could it would be:  Don't wash in hot water... I find using the Permanent Press setting on my washer seems to be okay.......a cool or warm water setting should be safe....but No promises!

So here we go:

Auntie Colleen has claimed this pair!

Aunt Pauline was the first person to claim some socks and she chose this pair.

Auntie Colleen also chose this pair!

This Christmas-ey looking pair of socks will also be going to Aunt Pauline's place in Toronto.

And.... this pretty pair went to live with Auntie Colleen!

I have one more pair which is almost finished.  There will be more coming in the next couple of weeks.  If you want to wait until you've seen them all, you can do that - but someone else may pick the ones you like best!  No promises!  There will be "serious" socks coming later - probably about 8 pairs or so - depending on yardage of skeins, it might be more or less.

So.... Keep all that in mind and if you see any you want, let me know.    Please order by number -  not by telling me "the ones with the stripes"!  Hee!  You can comment at the bottom of the blog, call, e-mail or phone - whichever works for you.  They will be given out on a first-come, first-sent basis, so keep that in mind as well!

Hope you see some you like!

This is the pair I am working on right now.  They should be done by tomorrow evening.

Almost Finished With Catch-up!

Thank Goodness is probably what you are saying now!  But.....when I get this done, then I have to check to see if I missed anything - that's going to be a mission!

Anyway - here we go!

A cute picture of Munchie and Poppa!

Happy, Furbee, Squishie, Taffy and Gracie watching The Good Doctor on the TV.

A few things getting ready to go to the hospital.

A tired little (or not so little!) Munchie.

Muffy when she was here in the summer last year

A really nice shot!

Annie, Me and Muffy.

The boys last Hallowe'en, Curtie on the left and Munchie on the right.

A pair of hand knit socks - I think Mommy got these.

Time to start another pair.  Since my eyesight is compromised, I decided it was time to use up all my sock yarn before I couldn't see well enough to use fine yarn any more...so I'm on a mission!

I am using all my little bits of leftover yarn and making "very silly socks" for anyone who wants them.

The boys bought some cloths and toys for the bears when they went to the Build-A-Bear store.  Squishie immediately grabbed the guitar!  He seems to have a natural talent - he is really quite good!

A pair of orange and blue socks for Munchie.

Another pair of silly socks.

A pair of socks for Granny Maureen.

My african violet is thriving now!

She has little buds!!!!!

My new light for my knitting area!

Another pair of "silly socks".

I love this!  So true!

A photo Mommy sent me on Munchie's birthday (last October - he'll soon be 14!)

So cute!

So handsome!  Whatever that thing is - he looks pleased with it!

A pink baby outfit for the hospital.

And a blue one....

And a peach one....

...a little blue hoodie....

...and a small blue outfit...all bound for the hospital gift shop.

A blanket for the same place.

A little pink outfit that makes me think of Shirley Temple...anyone remember her?

A yellow sweater and beret for a toddler.

And a blue sweater and beret for another toddler.

A darker blue for a little boy.

This is a mint color.

When Mommy and the boys came for a visit, Daddy let the dogs out for a breather.  L to R; Bam, Hulk and Daddy.

Meanwhile, the boys were inside having a drink after the long drive.  They were on their way north for a vacation.

I looked out the back window recently and noticed that spring was definitely here - the chipmunk is back!

This is light yellow or perhaps cream-colored.  It really didn't photograph very well!

This is also toddler size.

A very conventional baby blue outfit.  I've done this pattern a gazillion times over the years - it is timeless!

The bears all got Easter treats - apparently they all like Reese's!

A blanket made from bits of yarn left over from other projects.

Our last snow storm.  This is the hedge at the back of our condo.

There was quite a bit of the white stuff out there!

Happy and Furbee are making plans for a day trip to Canada's Wonderland!

They're looking out the window to check on the weather.

While the girls (Gracie and Taffy) help me with my sock knitting.

A couple of tired boys...that vacation must have been tiring!

Poppa is being helpful and winding skeins of yarn into yarn cakes for me.

This is our grand-niece Lauren.  She lives in the big city and we don't see her in person very often!  Isn't she adorable!  Wow, look at the hair!  Not sure what is on her tongue - I remember Granny Maureen really like blackballs!  Maybe that's what it was???

More later!
