Paving; Chapter 1

I made this little sweater and hat with yarn I bought during my last spending spree at Purl 3.
First I made this little hoodie....front view....
..... back view.  Then I made the other little outfit with the leftovers.
Meanwhile - out in our driveway, things were happening!
There were big machines dumping clay soil into....
.... big trucks which were bringing gravel and taking away the clay.

This is the scene at the front of our place....
........and then they got even closer...........
............ more machinery, going every which way!
Meanwhile, Poppa worked diligently to get our yard ready
...........levelling our walkway and re-positioning the drain pipe.  As you can see he had to move all his planters off the area closest to the garage.
And, also, Poppa and some other guys from the golf club had been trimming trees, but they couldn't manage some of the larger ones. They contacted the City and were pleasantly surprised to see the City vehicles there to finish up the job!

Moving On....

What is Squishie doing?  Well.....
He's watching Poppa sand those nice oak stairs he was working on - see?  They are both wearing masks!

This beautiful hibiscus bush grows in the flower bed across the road from us and we see it every time we go out the front door.  It has done especially well this year!
When it was decided that school would open this year in spite of COVID, the boys wanted to come and see us one more time before they would be in school, and Mommy thought it would be a good chance to do some shopping for school clothes.  We had fun on our shopping spree and each of the boys got a few outfits.  Here is Curtie modelling one of his choices.
It took a few minutes to convince Munchie to put his phone down and do some modelling too.
But, as soon as he won his game he headed upstairs to try some of them on for us.
Cutie Curtie in another outfit - handsome isn't he?
Another outfit - this one for while the weather stays a little bit warmer.
Then is was the cool dude's turn to show off his choices.
He posed for a side shot, and then a front shot.
These seem to be his colours this year - still cool!
Again - two angles for us to admire!
I think maybe he should consider a modelling career!
I think he is very photogenic - don't you?
Munchie has been a Spiderman fan for a long time, and had to make this special pose to model his last outfit!
Straight out of the movie!  He is definitely a dedicated fan!
Big news!  We have finally started the paving project at our Condos!  This is our driveway.  They broke up all the old pavement and trucked it away, then put in some gravel and smoothed it out carefully.
Big trucks were everywhere!

While the ground was dug up anyway, Poppa decided to replace our drain pipe.  The old one was leaking water into the ground and therefore, not doing a good job and washing out the soil underneath.  This is not a good thing for the new driveway!

July 22, 2020

I am still behind, but getting caught up slowly.  I had to take some time to look through pictures and get them organized - in preparation of more posts!

In that vein, I will start with photos from a visit with Mommy, Munchie and Curtie on the 22nd of July.
Before they arrived, Gracie and Taffy took a look at Violet to see if she was still growing.  I am happy to report that she appears to be making progress back to health!
And here is Munchie - no sooner in the door and he's on Poppa's computer!  It is hard to believe that he will be 12 in October this year!
Annie was happy to see her Dad (Poppa) and they gave each other a big hug!
Of course our little ham had to get in on the pictures!
But Curtie was tired - and we found him hiding under the bed chesterfield in the spare toom!
LtoR: Poppa, Munchie, Squishie, Curtie, Taffy, Nanna
Mommy was too warm, and borrowed one of my shirts - how come she looks prettier in it than I do!?!  Also, notice the perfect ballerina posture!

We had a great visit - except it was over too soon!

Still Catching Up!

I'm still working at getting caught up with these blog posts...getting closer.  As you can probably see, I am clumping things together in an effort to share lots in a few posts.  So, here we go again....

This is a  better picture of Hadrian's Wall - as you can see, it goes off into the distance for miles and miles...again....amazing when you think about how long it has been there!
A really cute picture of our little Taffy all ready for church one Saturday in the winter.
FurBall, Happy and Martha watching television while I get supper ready.
Another shot of my knitting area with outfits piled up ready to go to the cedar chest.
A couple of dishcloths I knitted when I just wanted something quick and easy --- and besides, I should use up the dishcloth yarn, so I can get some more!  Mommy took a few dishcloths from my dishcloth bin when she was here.
This is a tribute to Granny Maureen!  She has been busy sewing masks for the pandemic!  She sent me several.  This one (in case you can't tell from the photo) has sheep on it, and I put it on for my visit with the Knitters of Purl3 one Tuesday evening.
Another blanket I made from leftovers - this one has been sold.
Along the same trend - this is a dishcloth made from small leftover cotton yarn.
This is a group of our bears waiting for Poppa to come and sit with them while he watches TV.  LtoR: Squeegie, FurBall, Squishie, Taffy, Happy and Mikey.  Where is Poppa going to sit?
A small yellow outfit I made and sold almost immediately!
Meantime, Munchie needs a new blanket and he wanted blue, orange, yellow and red..........
....... I offered squares, stripes or diamonds.  He chose diamonds and here are parts of it spread out for a visual check.
This is the Knitters of Purl3, gathered in the parking lot outside the store.  The person sitting on the ground helping one of the ladies with a problem is Sandra - our leader!
A few more of the ladies in front of the store.  Unfortunately, as you can see by the sign in the window, my favourite yarn store did not survive the pandemic and is closing.
Just a cute picture of Squishie and Taffy, waiting for Poppa to take them for a ride!
Squeegie went outside early in the spring....
........ to watch Poppa put all the outdoor furniture together....

....... so we could sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.
Another outfit - I like this one, but popcorn is one of my favourite patterns for baby clothes.

Squishie, Gracie and Taffy waiting for Poppa to come for supper.
Now... socks and.....
                        ..... more socks, and.....
                            ...... more socks, and......
...... even more socks, plus.....
......... and one last pair of socks!  Yes, I did warn you that I got quite a lot of knitting done this summer!
