Another Poppa Project

This area is directly across the road from our unit.  It has been an issue for Poppa since we moved here.  Every spring the grass grew nicely until the weeds took over and the grass died from lack of moisture.  At that point it was unattractive and did not contribute to the appearance of the garden apartments at all!  So... this spring Poppa decided it would be better to extend the existing river rock and cover that part of the landscape.  So he dug out all the weeds, laid down landscape fabric and collected the larger rocks from any place he found them.  He brought them home from various places and used them as a border.  Then he moved each river rock individually and placed them carefully to look attractive.  This attracted the attention of several of the owners who live in that building and as you can see - one of them is helping him in this photo!

They worked and worked and worked.

Eventually the helper was worn out, but Poppa just kept going and going!

Another resident came out to tell him how pleased they were about the improved appearance of that space.

They chatted for quite a while.  This photo gives you an idea of what we see out our front door.

As he got further around the building another neighbour went over for a look.

Then while Poppa kept on working - two of our neighbours chatted nearby.

Some of them just observed while Poppa worked.  A photo of the finished project will appear in an upcoming post!

This is a picture of the gang who helped Poppa with the spring cleanup at the golf course.  Good job fellows!
