What is Poppa.....

....doing now???

Well, it's a long story!  I ordered a new desk from Staples.  When it arrived there was one box.  Poppa opened the box and examined all the pieces - but there were no instructions and no hardware and he was pretty sure there were not enough pieces.  So we went to the Staples store and they said we were definitely missing a box.  Since the missing box was nowhere to be found, they gave me a number to call.  When I called the number the lady on the other end assured me that there was only one box, we should re-pack the box we had opened and she would re-order the desk for me.  Sigh!  Poppa was not impressed with trying to get all those pieces back into the small box, so we went to the store to ask some questions.  The very kind gentleman there told us to check when the new box (he still said there should be two boxes) and if both boxes arrived - just keep box 1 of 2 (the one we didn't receive the first time) and return the new box 2 of 2.  A couple of days later the new desk arrived with two boxes. Hurray!  So Poppa began the giant jigsaw puzzle and it took him two afternoons (he as golfing in the mornings), and.........

..... here is the end result!  I have it all tidied up now and it looks fantastic.  Poppa added some extra shelves behing those two doors on the top and all my messy office supplies are stored out-of-sight!  He also (while he was working in the office area)....

.... he pushed the filing cabinet into the niche, built a shlf above it and then a self for my printer (with a little rack above it to hold extra paper) and pushed the rolling file cabinet underneath!  Tidy and convenient!  Thanks Poppa!

Another Space....

I love being back "in town".  I just got back from the grocery store - which is close enough so I can walk there and back.  It seems like a great way to start my day!  But, I must admit - Poppa dropped me off on his way to the golf course, so I only walked home - but it took about 5 minutes!  And now I have everything I need to make a nice supper tonight!  I'm planning Parmesan Chicken with a side of spaghetti and a few vegetables.  It will be fun.....

A Few Pics

Hi Everyone!

We are getting settled in our new residence and only have a few things left to do in order to get organized.  Poppa has been busy!

He has replaced four light fixtures - this one is in the 3rd bedroom.  He also put one ......

........in the dining area, but I didn't actually get it in this picture!  But you can see the new table and chairs - as well as a couple of boxes which are, as yet, still not unpacked.  We got the new living room furniture too.....

...... the chair and both ends of the sofa recline - it is quite comfy - Poppa can fall asleep at the end of a long day with very little difficulty at all!  We even had some company already....

...... this is Matt - Kev-Inn's son.  He was visiting us to...........

....... show off his new baby girl - Eliza Jane.  That's me holding the little one and her Mommy perched on the arm of the chair for this picture.  They are both quite cute!  And....

...... this is Eliza Jane's big brother, Franzen.  He was quite tired and found the new sofa quite comfortable too!

Some Exciting News from the UK

I'm happy to show you a picture I just received yesterday from our friends in the UK.  David & Allison (the owners of our Florida vacation villa) are proud to present...........

............. Oliver!  He is their first grandchild and you can see by the large smile on Allison's face just how proud and happy they are!  Congratulations to Joe & Clair - the happy parents!  We are looking forward to the Christmas season so we can meet the young man in person!

Quickly.........

............ just to let you know that things are progressing, regarding exiting the old house and setting up the new!  I have to run (with a car-load of boxes) over to the condo now since......

............ Poppa's new box spring and mattress are to be delivered any time!   This is Poppa trying out various mattresses - with the help of Garrett at Leon's!

Not Much...

...... going on, except for moving preparations - and even that is going slowly since most of the stuff is packed, except the stuff we are still using.  The next couple of weeks will be spent seeing to all the loose ends and changing addresses - and using up the frozen food in the freezer!

The auctioneer has come and taken away most of the furniture - the pieces that just won't fit into our new condo.  The dining room is empty...........

......... so is the living room - but there are a couple of boxes and the china cabinet in the parlour!  There are lots of.........

...... boxes, bins and crates in the kitchen!  There is............

........ weird stuff in weird places........ and.........

........ unusual things in unusual locations.  The good thing is.....

..... my computer is still plugged in and connected............

........... my yarn is still in the yarn closet and.......

........ I have a new project in my knitting bowl!
