More Munchie....

Munchie kept us VERY busy while he was here - he wanted to do everything Curtis did and more!
Here he is at Horseshoe Resort - we took a break for a couple of minutes in the Visitor Lounge.
Then he was off to the Ninja Warrior Challenge...
... He dashed through the maze and declared it must be meant for younger children - it was too easy...
.... he climbed up this wall and made it look easy...
... and then he came down the mountainside on the giant waterslide.  We bought him a 3x pass, he really liked this one!
Next he decided he wanted to try kayaking - he did a really good job and seemed to find it fun.
Doesn't he look like a pro??
Then to finish off the day.... the boys went to the miniature golf course for a round before we headed home.
The next day, while Poppa worked on pulling weeds out of the stones around the garden apartments.....
... Munchie chilled out in the house with me, and....
... the bears had a chat about some bear stuff!

Munchie (Chapter 2)

A couple of things to catch up on....
In August the weather was warm and Taffy had her sunsuit on - I wish those days were back!
Poppa finished painting that fence - it looks great!
I started knitting a blanket for Aunt Jeannie.  She had a lap blanket - but it didn't cover her feet and they were always cold!  As you can see - I was using up small scraps of yarn left over from other projects.
Poppa's flowers were putting on a beautiful show....
.... and the flower bed was thriving.
Blackie was waiting (cutely and impatiently) for Munchie......

... who had gone to the beach!
He's quite a good swimmer and went over to the other side where there were a lot of other kids playing.  Eventually he came back to shore and....
... since he can run fast and he was bigger than most of the kids - he assumed the responsibility for making this whirligig go around!  He never runs out of energy, but...
... he did take a break and play with his electronic device while I got ready for supper.

Munchie's Turn! (Chapter 1)

I'll bring you up to speed on Munchie's summer visit with us....since I'm so far behind... I'll post lots of pictures and let you make up the story!
Oops - this isn't Munchie at all!  This is Poppa's latest buy - a ride-on lawn mower!  He uses it to cut the grass at Kev-Inn's lot.  It's a nice one.
This is a photo of my Uncle John and his daughter Kelly.  I hadn't seen them for a loooong time and got this picture at a memorial service for my cousin - not a pleasant event to attend, but a great event for seeing relatives!
Okay - here is Munchie....
The first thing he did when he arrived was get on my computer....

But, I convinced him to take a second to smile at the camera for me....

..... and he wanted a picture with Blackie in it!  Aren't they cute!

We went to McDonald's for breakfast one day...

... and while Poppa got the food, Munchie was playing games on his phone - he likes electronic devices -like most kids his age!

This was obviously a cooler day - but Poppa got his golf clubs ready....

.... loaded them in the car...

... and went golfing (while Munchie and I played on our electronic devices!

Of course, as soon as Poppa headed for the golf course, Munchie was back to his i-Pad!

But....... the next day......

.... Yep!  We went to Horseshoe Valley Resort and Munchie lined up to go Tree-Top-Trekking - he had seen the pictures of Curtie doing this!

He got into the required gear....

... and headed up the stairs...
He zipped through the course....

..... and made it look easy!

He caught up to the person ahead of him and sat down to wait for his turn.  He didn't even look nervous!

I told him this one would be hard - so he ran across just to prove me wrong!

He quickly got to the zip-line and was on the ground again!

And of course, he ran right up the stairs again!

Sped through it again and declared that obstacle done!

I started a blanket for Aunt Jeannie.  Someone gave her a small one, but her feet were getting cold, so I promised her a larger one.

One More....

...before I move to my knitting chair to watch TV and do some serious knitting - I'm way behind on my hospital projects!

Auntie Cecile sent me this picture quite a while ago - you can see some of the things I knit and sent to the hospital on display.
And one of the blankets on the left side of this picture, as well as a couple of really nice crocheted blankets donated by a crocheter!
Kev-Inn dropped in for a brief visit recently to share this photo with us.  He actually (finally!), after quite a few years trying, got a wild turkey.  I haven't gotten any yet...
maybe I shouldn't hold my breath.  He brought....
... Teddy with him - Poppa gets along well with Teddy - I think they're both kinda cute!
Oh-oh!  This looks a lot like another instance of my kitchen island becoming a work bench..........
......well - he's fixing my Dyson (again!).  Thank you Poppa.
Here is another blanket destined for the hospital tuck shop.

Summer Pics

Sorry for the long delay - we were away on vacation.  My goal now is to get caught up so I can post pictures from that vacation (it was pretty amazing!).  So........
It is a lot cooler already and Taffy has some of her warmer clothes  on!
This is an older picture from last spring - Curtie and Poppa at McDonalds enjoying their time together!
And when Curtie came to visit in the summer, he practiced his baseball pitching with Poppa in the little park.
They played together on Poppa's laptop - I think they were doing jigsaw puzzles.  On to another topic....
... remember Poppa's nice tidy garage??  Well...
... he started a new project and needed his extra-long extension cord to use his grinder to take off the peeling paint on the iron fence in front of our complex.  If you look carefully, you can see that it was starting to look pretty shoddy in places and he decided he could do it.  As  you can also see, one of the other owners offered to help - the same lady who helped with the small fence at the botton of the new out-side stairs.

While he was working on that, I finished another blanket.  It started out with a lace border, but after pressing it - the border was too long, so the blanket ended up with a lacy ruffle.  Taffy really liked it!
