A Visitor!

In February we had a little visitor!  Curtie came to stay with us for three days - while Mommy and Munchie went on a class trip with Munchie's schoolmates and teacher.  Since Mommy would be away and Daddy would be at work when Curtie got home after school - he took a few days off school and came to stay with us.  The days flew by quickly!  It seemed we were busy all the time, but I seem to have a serious shortage of pictures.  Here is Curtie ....
......watching TV - one of the few times he sat still long enough for me to take his picture!  We went shopping, we went to the grocery store............
....... Poppa and Curtie played with Bey Blades ..........
..... a lot!  Both of them appear to be enjoying it!  They played on the table and on the carpet - any where I didn't ask them to move from!  Curtie borrowed my camera and took some pictures....
....... me and Poppa  - checking our e-mail or playing games or writing a blog???  He disappeared upstairs...........
... and got a picture of Big Pooh and Little Pooh sharing secrets...........
.....and then Little Pooh stopped to visit with Doug Gilmore Bear.  I think Curtie did a good job with the camera!  He was super good and we had a nice visit!

Belated Christmas

Christmas at our house came and went rather quietly.  We are so used to being in Florida just before or just after - it was strange being in Canada!  But we had Christmas dinner with Auntie Cecile and Uncle Mark - and it was yummy!  But, as usual, I didn't have my camera to get pics for you!
Squeegie loves Christmas.  He got lots of things to eat.  Auntie Denise sent him this stocking with snacks in it - and he didn't want to put it down.  Taffy told him that it would not magically fill up again, but I don't think he believed her - and wouldn't let her put it away.  We had our real Christmas the first week in January........
... the bears were watching something!
Yes - our little grandsons came to visit and there was presents!
Daddy had a couple of presents too, but he was relaxing while he opened them!
Mommy was supervising and handing out parcels to everyone - but just had to have this picture to show everyone how much taller she is than I am.
It took a while to open all the presents, but everyone had fun doing it!
Munchie modelled his orange ensemble for us - doesn't he look adorable!
And Curtie also modelled his for us.  As you can see, it is a little too short for this little guy who grows faster than I can knit.  Consequently, both boys left their sweaters here, so I could make them a little longer.  I'll post new pictures when I get them!

Hopeless!

I really haven't forgotten about my blog.  I simply haven't posted - no excuse - just busy doing other things!  Then I "cleaned" my computer (optimized) and for some reason lost my login and password to get into it.  I finally remembered (and took the time) to look it up...and here I am!

As you can guess by this photo - it has been quite cold here.  Squeegie and Taffy got out their winter coats, mitts and hats.  They look cute, but I sure miss going to Florida for the winter.  Hopefuly we will be on the road again next year!  We are still awaiting a call to give us the date of Poppa's cataract surgery, and he wants to make sure he gets the call, since the waiting list is quite long!  Besides that, he would like to have his new implants before he drives that far!

Just before Christmas, Poppa started a new project.....looks interesting doesn't it?
Can you see it here - all finished?  Look closely, he made a cupboard for more storage - perfectly sized to fit into the little space outside the downstairs bathroom door.  In a condo every little bit of storage space is important and this little cupboard is already full.  We're using it to store spare bottles of water, and tins of iced tea, and paper towels, and coffee pods, and filters for the humidifiers - and anything else that will fit in!
One evening  we went to Canadian Tire (the big store about 20 minutes from home).  When having lunch with Auntie Colleen and Auntie Cecile one day and listening to them chat about how much they loved their countertop ovens, I decided to look for one for us.  So, while Poppa hunted for wheel covers for the snow tires on the car, I checked out the countertop ovens - and here it is.  I'm absolutely in love with it and use it a lot!  For just the two of us, it is much easier to use, instead of heating the big oven.  The silly thing is, I had one at our old house, and didn't think I would have room in the condo - but, I do!
It got so cold here in Canada that Taffy got a snow suit!  She looks so cute!
And she loved it, so we got into the car and went looking at the Christmas lights.  This place was beautiful!

And So On.....

.... our 50th anniversary at the end of October, we requested that there be no big celebration.  Neither of us like being in the limelight and neither of us like big crowds of people so...
.....Auntie Cecile and Uncle Mark took us out for dinner.  It was nice and quiet and the food was good.  We received best wishes from lots of people and thank you to all of them!  Along with that...
...... I finished the blanket to go with Charlie - here he is posing with it.  He liked it, so.....
......I folded it up and put it in a bag to be delivered.  Squeegie....
...... was watching out the window at the back, while Poppa scraped down the window sills and gave them a fresh coat of paint.
When that was done Squeegie and Taffy sat down to........
...... watch Dr. Phil, and I heard a noise which turned out to be....
..... Happy calling to see if he could come downstairs and watch too.  I brought him down and then took some pictures of............
...... these little booties, and....
........ these little booties, which I made for Auntie Denise.  They will go to the new baby granddaughter of her friend Peter.  And....
... here is a smile for you.

Changing Colours

Not too long ago, when I looked out the window in Poppa's bedroom....
....... this is what I saw, but......
... more recently we went for a drive...........
...... in the direction of our old house, where there is now a big, new Timmie's replacing the one where I used to take pictures of Poppa standing in line!  But....
there were also some beautiful autumn colours to be seen on the trees along the country roads!  And now...
... it looks like this outside our condo!  Yep that's snow!  Yuck!  So I've been staying indoors and....
... now that Charlie is finished, and Sharkie is waiting for Curtis to come and get him......
.... I thought I should show you some better pictures of Stripes - the tiger I made for Munchie - remember???  This is the side view.
Stripes is sitting on the top bunk (where Munchie sleeps when he is here) so Chocolate (the big bear!) can hang onto the leash and make sure the tiger doesn't get away!  It you look closely you can see the name tag Munchie created for Stripes so if he runs away, we'll know he belongs to us. But....
......... I think this is my favourite angle of the big cat!  He was tired of having his picture taken and turned away from me.  So....
... I went to see what Poppa was doing and found him working on some plumbing issues.  That was kinda boring for me, so....
......... I got out some yarn.........
...... and started the blanket that will accompany Charlie on his journey to his new owner - a little baby due in December!

Charlie Brown

Before school began again in September.....
... Munchie and Curtie had another fun day......
..... visiting with Snoopy and Charlie Brown!  Snoopy has always been a favourite of Mommy's, so it was fun to see the boys enjoying him too!
How adorable is this - Snoopy is so cute!  Of course, so are Patty and Charlie Brown.
Things to not look so happy in this photo!
I'm not sure where this was taken, but it looks like everybody loved the big bear! The little boys are growing up!  Here is a smile for you....
Hee!  Have a good day!

Pumpkin Patch

Just before Halloween, the boys visited a large pumpkin patch...
...... Curtie got a little hung up....
........ while Munchie tried out a pumpkin sofa...
.... both boys and their friends posed for this rather interesting shot!  Finally....
... Curtie picked his favourite pumpkin.....
... and Munchie found one he liked too!  While they were having fun doing that...
.... Poppa was busy in the garage (on his knees!\)  ......
......... he took my i-Roomba apart to give her a good cleaning - he thought she was sounding stuffy and tired.  When he was finished, she sounded so happy!  Roomie says "Thank you Poppa!"
