More Catch-Up

This is Poppa on his 75th birthday - Feb. 10, 2021!

Taffy was happy to share the cake with him.

Kev-Inn and Poppa at a summer picnic - just after Kev-Inn had been hunting and didn't shave.  He is still sporting a beard, but has it much better groomed now!

This is just a creative dishcloth I made from little bits of left-over dishcloth yarn...the lace border helped it look prettier.

A few years ago, Poppa brought home a pretty, little African violet for me.  It wasn't flowering so I sat it outside in the sun for a few minutes....but....unfortunately I went to the knitting club and forgot it outside.  By the time I remembered it was sitting outside in the hot sun, it had gotten quite ill.  Not knowing what to do, I sent a picture to Muffy.  She advised me to take off all the dead parts and watch it carefully.  She is so good with plants, after a couple of weeks it starting growing new leaves!

This is a group of bears sitting in Poppa's chair watching television while I knit.  LtoR: Squeegie, Furbee, Squishie, Taffy, Hapster and Mikey.

These are the three musketeers - they tend to be wherever we are.  They are checking out my little violet and cheering her on!

Granny Maureen sews these delightful homemade masks to protect us from COVID.  This one is for Valentine's Day and I love it.  Well... in all fairness, I love all of them - especially those with bears on them - I don't usually take pictures of me, but I loved having this to wear on a special day.  (I also have Christmas, Easter and St. Patrick's Day!)

When Bernadette came to visit last summer she brought me a new exotic African violet.  Isn't she pretty?!!  Her name is Peggy.

A pair of socks I knitted sometime last year.  This was epensive yarn and I loved the result.

I also found a new pattern for bootees and I love them!

In a spurt of creativity I made a little fair isle sweater for the hospital from some small bits of yarn left over from other projects.

Winter was here again in no time.  Squishie and Gracie got their winter coats out of the mothballs!

This is topiary.  You can see immediately why I love this photo!  Just look at all the large green versions of Squeegie!

Here is another creative idea for bears!  I think I need this tree!

In reality - this is our Christmas tree for 2021.  It sits on the coffee table - but I can put all the things for the boys around it and it is easy to put away!

I just had to post this - can you figure out why??

  1. Those Topiary Bears - I think the one on the right looks much more like Grizzle Bear than Squeegie!

  3. Awwww, Phil looks like he's aging backward. I hope he had a great day!
It took me a minute to realize that was Kevin. hee. Looks like he had a relaxed time.
I love the bear tree! And the topiaries. Some people have so much creative talent. That includes your creative tree set up.
I think those are my favourite booties yet. And I love the fair isle sweater. The socks are exquisite. If you still have them and no one has laid claim, I want them!
Yay for Bernadette saving the violet! The new one is gorgeous, too.
You look so pretty. You should take more photos. Maureen does such a good job on the masks, doesn't she. We have found them invaluable. All the fur kids look like they are having a good time.
