We Have Arrived!

Hello from sunny Florida!  Here is a quick recap.  Poppa and I spent a quiet Christmas Day.  We stopped in briefly to see Aunt Peggy, then we went over to Aunt Denise's house.  We found these characters on the front step.

On the 27th we set out on our journey to find a place of sunshine and warmth.  We arrived safely and uneventfully.  Our first night was spent in Georgetown, KY.  It sure felt good to get into bed that night.  We left home about 7:15am and stopped for the night at about 6pm that same day.  Other than a couple of quick stops for gas and a bite to eat, we just kept travelling.  Poppa and the bears crashed shortly after we had supper.
The next night - where I actually got on the internet and post - from Adel, GA.  Once again, we were happy to stop for the night - even though we didn't drive as far on the second day.  By the time we stopped, we were only 39 miles from FL.  I snapped this picture in the morning.  Squeegie and Taffy were patiently waiting for Poppa and I to get ready to get back on the road for Florida.
The third day on the road found us in sunny Florida.  It was a fine warm day and it felt like we were almost home!  We went to one of the hotels close to the villa to relax for a couple of days before it was time to move in.   I couldn't get any reliable connection to the internet while we were in that hotel so I decided to wait until we were settled at the villa before posting any more blogs - and here I am!  Poppa and Mr. Owner had planned on going golfing - but due to some unexpected snags, they decided to postpone that date until another time.  On the 30th of December we drove over to the villa to meet up with our owners/friends from Great Britain.  After a very enjoyable visit to Celebration for lunch and a stroll, we went back to the villa for a cup of coffee before heading back to the hotel.  The villa was decked out for Christmas - so with delight I snapped a picture of our kind hosts...........here they are:
They had left the Christmas decs up so we could see "our" villa all decked out........including the Christmas tree, which Bobbie kindly plugged in for us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with them.  They are great folks and feel like old friends already.  By the time we came back to the villa  - all traces of Christmas had disappeared and all was ready for our arrival.  While Poppa and I carried in the luggage and put things away, Squeegie and Taffy changed into nice clean cool outifts and quickly settled into their favourite spot.
I set up my office.......
...and then we went out for groceries and supplies.  We came back laden down with bags, and realized that we hadn't gotten the eggs that we bought..........then decided that for the price of a dozen eggs it just wasn't worth going back for them.  We ate a salad for supper, watched TV for a while, got the table ready for breakfast the next day...
...then Poppa went out to check the car (I had left my big camera in there!).........
..........and came back in to report that all was well.  I settled into my favourite knitting spot....
............and watched TV for a while.  We soon headed off to bed............ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  At last!  It feels so good to be here!

Speaking of feeling good..........I was quite pleased to receive this picture of our darling little boys.  Mommee took it on Christmas day.
All decked out in their Christmas outfits!
